Multi-Well Pressure Interference and Gas Channeling Control in W Shale Gas Reservoir Based on Numerical Simulation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Well interference has drawn great attention in the development of shale gas reservoirs. In W reservoir, well increased from 27% to 63% between 2016 and 2019, but production recovery parent wells was only about 40% 2018 2019. Therefore, mechanism influencing factor degree were analyzed this study. A numerical model reservoir developed for history matching, mechanisms analyzed. Sensitivity analysis effect different parameters on carried out. Furthermore, feasibility effectiveness injection pressure boosting prevent demonstrated. The results show that main causes inter-well are: energy before hydraulic fractures child well, spacing, fracture connection, etc. could open under high causing fracturing fluid flow in, while closure happens low influence two-phase seepage becomes more serious. combination liquid phase retention comprehensively affects capacity fractures. Gas can effectively fluids flowing through connected Before fracturing, pressurization reduce stress difference decrease interference. field case indicates channeling be prevented pressurization.

A numerical study of performance for tight gas and shale gas reservoir systems

Various analytical, semi-analytical, and empirical models have been proposed to characterize rate and pressure behavior as a function of time in tight gas and shale gas systems featuring horizontal wells with multiple hydraulic fractures. Despite a few analytical models, as well as a small number of published numerical studies, there is currently little consensus regarding the large-scale flow ...

Strength, creep and frictional properties of gas shale reservoir rocks

The deformational properties of gas shale reservoir rocks from the Barnett and Haynesville shale formations were investigated using a triaxial apparatus. The samples tested varied in their mineralogical composition, the degree of diagenesis, the total organic content and the degree of maturity of the organic material. In general, rocks with more cement and less clay show higher elastic moduli, ...

Two-phase Simulation of Well Control Methods for Gas Kicks in Case of Water and Oil-based Muds

Kick occurrence is a possible event during a drilling process. It is required to be handled immediately using a well control method to avoid blowout, financial losses and damages to the drilling crew. Several methods including driller, wait and weight, and concurrent are applicable in the drilling industry to control a well during a kick incident. In this study, typical well control methods wer...
